The CGE01 from Eurofins York is a Comb Generator Emitter that generates a broadband radiated and/or conducted output from 100 MHz to 18 GHz. It enables the harmonic steps to be switched between 80 MHz and 100 MHz as standard which allows more frequency points to be measured than a fixed-frequency source. A 50 MHz/80 MHz step option is available that allows measurements compliant with chamber validations above 1 GHz according to CISPR 16. This comb generator is battery operated with 6.5 hours of typical operating time with a fully charged battery pack. It can be used as a verification source for radiated/conducted measurements.
When used as a verification reference source, the known output allows unknowns within systems or components to be measured or calculated. The CGE01 has a compact size that allows small enclosures to be evaluated when used as a reference source for shielding effectiveness measurements. It can be supplied with a 50-ohm SMA output connector (CGE01C) for direct connection to conducted test systems, or to an external antenna in order to generate test fields for evaluating radiated emission test systems. Alternatively, to achieve excellent repeatability and compactness for purely radiated applications, the CGE01 can be supplied with an integrated antenna (CGE01R).
The CGE01 is available in a compact housing that measures 76 (Dia.) x 74 (L) mm (CGE01C with battery pack, including connector). It is suitable for conducting CISPR 16 verifications, evaluating the shielding effectiveness of small enclosures such as PCs and wireless equipment, and validating radiated measurement systems. The portability, battery-powered operation, and optional integrated antenna of this comb generator makes it suitable for field comparisons and on-site measurements.
