The YRS03 from Eurofins York is a Noise and Comb Generator that produces continuous noise output from 10 MHz to 6 GHz. It has a user-selectable step size and can be used as an evaluation source for both radiated and conducted measurements. The noise generator enables observation of details over the full spectral range, while the comb generator allows for the reference signal output and noise floor to be viewed simultaneously, and the frequency accuracy of measurement of equipment to be checked. It is battery-powered which allows operation as an electrically small source, which minimizes the effect of this generator on itself when characterizing the electromagnetic environment.

The YRS03 requires 4x 1.5 V cells and has an operating time of up to 14 hours (with alkaline cells). It comes with three antennas – two monopole antennas and one monocone antenna. This comb generator is available in an enclosure that measures 120 x 120 x 60 mm with N-type (socket) connector and uses a rotary switch for mode selection including OFF. It comes in a metal housing, allowing it to be affixed directly to a metal ground plane, which may be necessary for certain tests. This generator is an excellent source for performing tests in Open Area Test Chambers (OATS) and anechoic chambers.
