The CGO-501 from COM-POWER Corporation is a Comb Generator with a frequency range from 1 MHz to 1.5 GHz. It facilitates quick and reliable radiated emissions testing and offers a valuable tool for pre-test site validations. This comb generator is a radiated and conducted reference signal source that radiates signals with a precise 1 MHz step size and ensures comprehensive coverage during EMC testing. It comes with one 12-inch antenna for frequencies up to 425 MHz, and one 5-inch antenna for higher frequencies. It is provided with a custom carrying case that houses the generator, both antennas and battery charger.

The CGO-501 is powered by a rechargeable NiMH battery pack which provides convenience and portability during field testing and reduces the potential for unwanted reflections caused by external cabling. When fully charged, the internal battery pack allows for continuous operation of the Comb Generator for up to 18 hours. The generator also employs an auto-shut-off feature which disables the generator output before the battery voltage drops to the point at which the generator’s output could start to change or become unstable. It is available in a circular housing that measures 17.8 x 3 cm and ensures a uniform radiated output and enhances measurement accuracy and reliability.
