SiQ Unveils State-of-the-Art EMC Chamber for Automotive Testing712370

SiQ, a leading provider of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing solutions, held the ceremonial opening of their new EMC chamber for automotive testing. The investment in this cutting-edge facility, worth EUR 2 million, includes technologically advanced equipment specifically designed for testing electronic components used in e-mobility.

With an expanded laboratory area of 150 m², SiQ is poised to enhance its capabilities and strengthen global competitiveness for Slovenian industries. The Minister of Economy, Tourism, and Sport, Matjaž Han, emphasized that this investment empowers Slovenian manufacturers to certify high-value products or services. Furthermore, Minister Han highlighted the advantage of partnering with SiQ, a renowned organization recognized for its international certifications.

Gregor Schoss, the Managing Director of SiQ Ljubljana, underlined the pivotal role SiQ plays in supporting the Slovenian economy, particularly for exporters. Schoss also emphasized SiQ's commitment to delivering high-quality, rapid, and efficient services to both domestic and international clients.

With over fifty years of expertise in EMC testing, SiQ has emerged as a crucial partner for the automotive and e-mobility industries. The integration of electronic components poses significant challenges, particularly regarding EMC and safety. The newly inaugurated chamber will enable SiQ to facilitate the transition to e-mobility and ensure the high quality of electrical products. Mitja Gorenšcek, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia and President of the SIQ Council, affirmed the importance of product quality in driving competitiveness and consumer trust within the automotive sector.

SiQ's comprehensive range of testing services caters to the requirements of renowned automotive manufacturers such as Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW, Renault, Porsche, Rimac, Aston Martin, and others. As automotive manufacturers continually raise their compliance standards, SiQ makes significant investments in state-of-the-art measuring equipment and develops new testing methodologies to meet these evolving requirements.

The newly established EMC semi-anechoic chamber offers radiated emission measurements in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 6 GHz, as well as electromagnetic field immunity testing in the frequency range from 200 MHz to 6 GHz. Equipped with high-powered amplifiers capable of achieving an electromagnetic field strength of up to 200 V/m, the chamber complies with stringent requirements for electromagnetic compatibility testing, including military components and civil aviation. SiQ's expanded laboratory also includes associated antennas, a state-of-the-art spectral receiver for measurements up to 44 GHz, and a dedicated room for electrical tests on automotive components. Furthermore, the addition of an environmental chamber allows for the exposure of test specimens to extreme temperature conditions.
