GAIA Converter Launches SWaP-Optimized DC/DC Front-End Module for Military-Grade EMC

GAIA Converter Launches SWaP-Optimized DC/DC Front-End Module for Military-Grade EMC712370

GAIA Converter, a leading provider of power solutions, has presented its latest innovation, the FLHG-60-O-N DC/DC front-end module. This highly efficient 60W-rated input bus conditioner, designed as a PCB front-end module, is tailored to meet the stringent requirements of military-grade EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards.

By seamlessly integrating with GAIA DC/DC converters, this module streamlines the design process of military power converter topologies, enabling compliance with the most exacting military and avionics standards, including MIL-STD 461/704/1275 and DO160. The SWaP-optimized (Size, Weight, and Power-optimized) FLHG-60-O-N module comes in a compact and robust enclosed through-pin PCB design, making it easy to install and integrate into both new and existing DC/DC converter systems.

With a temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and a maximum load rating of 60W, this front-end module proves itself suitable for demanding military and avionics applications. Its advanced features, such as input voltage acceptance between 16 and 60-VDC, low voltage drop, and differential and common-mode EMI filtering, further enhance its reliability and performance.

The module offers essential protections, including reverse polarity and input inrush current protection, ensuring smooth operation even in challenging environments. For utmost dependability and durability, it clamps input transients up to 100V/50ms in accordance with MIL-STD 1275, while also limiting the output to 80V.

The FLHG-60-O-N is designed for superior reliability and longer lifespan, complying with MIL-STD 704 and DO160 for hold-up after a power outage when utilizing an external capacitor. Its on/off control feature allows the full power supply to be remotely deactivated, ensuring a low-consumption mode for optimized energy efficiency. Additionally, a monitor signal indicates the capacitor charge level, providing confidence that it remains at 90% or greater, further enhancing its dependability.
