Overview
EN 60947-5-6 applies to proximity sensors that operate via a two-wire connecting cable linked to the control input of a switching amplifier. The switching amplifier provides a DC source for the control circuit and is regulated by the variable internal resistance of the proximity sensor. These sensors can be used in explosive atmospheres, provided they also meet the requirements of IEC 60079-11.
