TDK RF Solutions, a world leader in the design, development, and manufacture of technical solutions for the electromagnetic compatibility testing and antenna measurement industries, is supporting 'Testing per AIM 7351731' [Medical Electrical Equipment and System Electromagnetic Immunity Test for Exposure to Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Readers] in its Radiated Immunity Lab and Conducted Immunity Lab software.
AIM 7351731 is a standard that provides specialized guidance on the testing of non-implantable medical devices to determine if they are immune to emissions from radio frequency identification (RFID) systems. TDK's radiated immunity and conducted immunity software packages support testing to AIM 7351731. TDK Conducted Immunity Lab software combines a powerful set of testing tools with an easy-to-use interface to reduce the complexity associated with immunity testing and TDK Radiated Immunity Lab software features a powerful yet easy-to-use set of tools to simplify immunity testing in an anechoic chamber, a TEM cell, or a GTEM.
The standard provides medical device manufacturers and end-users with guidance on how to evaluate their devices for immunity to emissions from RFID systems. The test procedures in this document are based on experimental results from several AIM members. Test protocols are included for the major commercial implementations of RFID as standardized by ISO, including LF, HF, and UHF RFID.
