Hermon Laboratories Continues Investing in Advanced Facilities for Enhanced EMC Testing

Hermon Laboratories Continues Investing in Advanced Facilities for Enhanced EMC Testing 712370

In a dedicated commitment to maintaining the highest standards in EMC testing, Hermon Laboratories has invested significantly in enhancing its state-of-the-art facilities. These improvements ensure the use of top-quality equipment and tools for the swift and effective execution of EMC testing services. The facilities boast multiple semi-anechoic and full anechoic chambers, catering to radiated immunity and emissions testing across various sectors, including commercial, medical, and military domains.

Noteworthy features of Hermon Laboratories' facilities include an all-weather protected Open Area Test Site (OATS) for radiated emission testing at distances ranging from 1 to 10 meters. The inclusion of multiple shielded enclosures facilitates both conducted and radiated susceptibility testing. The site also houses an immunity site designed for transient susceptibility power quality testing.

The capabilities extend to radiated immunity testing up to 200 V/m and 18 GHz, along with radiated emission testing reaching up to 220 GHz. Conveniently situated within the same building, all EMC and radio facilities ensure easy access to various test stations, accommodating large and heavy equipment.

Emissions Testing: Assessing and Mitigating Interference

Hermon Laboratories addresses the critical aspects of emissions testing, recognizing that radiated and conducted emissions can lead to harmful interference with electronic equipment. Radiated Emission (RE) measurements are meticulously conducted, rotating the Equipment Under Test (EUT) and scanning antenna height to identify maximum RE levels. Final 3 m measurements take place in the anechoic chamber, with the option to continue measurements at the OATS for peak frequencies if a 10m test distance is necessary. Conducted Emission (CE) assessments gauge electromagnetic energy levels emitted by product cables, including power lines and network cables.

Immunity Testing: Ensuring Performance in Challenging Environments

Hermon Laboratories offers comprehensive immunity testing on devices, equipment, or systems to evaluate performance under electromagnetic disturbances. The dedicated immunity test sites and anechoic chambers facilitate a range of susceptibility tests for civil and military applications. These include radiated immunity, surge, Electrical Fast Transient (EFT), Electrical Static Discharge (ESD), burst immunity, conducted immunity, power frequency magnetic field immunity, and voltage dips, short interruptions, and voltage variations immunity testing.
