ETS-Lindgren and Rohde & Schwarz to Host In- Person Seminar on EMC Testing Fundamentals712370

ETS-Lindgren, the global leader in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test and measurement solutions, announces its partnership with Rohde & Schwarz on the special in-person event “EMC Testing Fundamentals Seminar.” Scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the University of Texas at Austin Commons Conference Center, the technical program features ETS-Lindgren’s Garth D’Abreu, Director of Automotive Solutions, as one of the invited speakers. Complimentary lunch and refreshments will be provided, but you must register in advance, as seating is limited to encourage audience/speaker interaction.

During the full-day seminar, participants will learn the fundamentals of EMC testing to ensure electronic devices operate without interference and comply with industry standards. Topics include emission and immunity testing, essential to minimizing electromagnetic interference (EMI), as well as an overview of regulatory standards such as those referenced by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States and the CE marking in Europe. A highlight of the seminar will be the hands-on learning opportunity using the latest technology in testing equipment from Rohde & Schwarz, including EMI receivers, oscilloscopes, and probes. The program is designed to enhance the technical education and on-the-job skills of engineers, product designers, and compliance professionals.

“I am pleased to join Rohde & Schwarz at this seminar and present this important topic on compliance. I’ll review EMC test environments described in commonly referenced standards and discuss what ‘compliant’ means as it relates to the test environment,” said Mr. D’Abreu. “Attendees will learn about the practical limitations that can sometimes affect a customer’s ability to fulfill all the requirements of a standard, to the point where alternatives or compromises must be considered. I’ll also review standard chamber and test cell designs as well as provide suggestions on the optimal test environment for specific applications,” he added.

Whether it’s pre- or full compliance EMC testing of consumer electronics, from handheld wireless devices to full vehicles, ETS-Lindgren’s experts have developed a comprehensive Full Line of EMC Test and Measurement Solutions. In addition, ETS-Lindgren provides continued support through its six manufacturing factories and a team of more than 750 employees worldwide.

Attendance is limited with tickets being issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
