Emitech Group has launched a new €10 million (US$10.9m) test center for analyzing the EMC of electronic equipment, as well as vehicle homologation and large system verification. According to the company, it is outfitted with the largest (27 m x 18 m x 10.5 m) and most recent Faraday cage built in France.
This facility, which is primarily designed for electromagnetic compatibility test purposes, enables the evaluation against the UNECE R10 standard for EMC, of a wide range of vehicles and for the validation of large systems.
In terms of equipment, it houses a chassis dynamometer that can be adapted for two- and four-wheel-drive vehicles, with a wheelbase of up to 6 meters and a carrying capacity of up to 6 tons per axle, enabling the analysis of truck tractors or agricultural equipment. It can replicate speeds of up to 120 km/h and wind speeds of up to 60 km/h.
Various powertrain types are supported, including petrol and diesel combustion engines, micro-hybrids, hybrids, rechargeable hybrids, electric systems, and hydrogen systems. It has a heavy load area that can support up to 40 tons, enabling it to accommodate construction machinery and equipment of high tonnage and volume.
