The ECU-3 from Frankonia Germany EMC Solutions is an Immunity Test System that operates at 9 kHz to 3 GHz. It consists of major test components required for EMC testing like signal generator, power meter, directional couplers and relay switching unit. The integrated signal generator has a frequency range from 9 kHz to 3 GHz. This system includes general functions like EUT monitoring and an interlock safety system and features automatic switching between up to two EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers and three different antennas. It also enables control and automatic switching between up to four external amplifiers and up to three different outputs for antennas or coupling devices (CDNs, EM-coupling clamps, BCI-clamps).

The ECU-3 can conduct immunity tests according to IEC/EN 61000-4-6 (10 kHz – 230 MHz), BCI-tests according to ISO 11452-4 and MIL-STD 461, CS 114 and radiated immunity tests according to IEC/EN 61000-4-3, ISO 11452-2/3/4/5, MIL-STD 461 and RS 103. It supports amplitude modulation with a modulation rate from 1 Hz to 30 kHz and a modulation depth of up to 90 %. This test system also supports pulse modulation with a repetition frequency from 0.1 Hz to 100 kHz and a duty cycle of 1 % - 99 %. It has an input resistance of 2.2 kohm and is compatible with TTL/CMOS for EUT-fail input. It includes USB-B, GPIB, IEEE-488, Ethernet and RJ45 (optional) interfaces for connecting to a computer.

The ECU-3 is available in a 19” sub-rack or desktop case that measures 449 x 177 x 580 mm and requires an AC supply from 100 to 240 V.
