The BBA130 from Rohde & Schwarz is a series of broadband amplifiers that operate in the frequency ranges of 80 MHz to 1.0 GHz, 0.69 GHz to 3.2 GHz, and 2.5 GHz to 6 GHz. These amplifiers are designed for product validation testing during RF component development, production, and quality assurance. The output of these amplifiers can be optimally tuned to match specific applications, with the operating class for the transistors adjustable between Class A and Class AB during operation. Users can also choose between maximum output power or higher mismatch tolerance at the output.
The amplifiers can be tuned to deliver a maximum output power ranging from 22 to 4200 watts, with a gain adjustment of 15 dB and a gain flatness of 3.8 dB. A bias point in Class A yields excellent linearity and harmonic performance, making it ideal for generating spectrally clean CW signals. A bias point in Class AB provides faithful reproduction of pulsed signals and improves the efficiency of the amplifier. The amplifiers have adjustable tolerance against mismatches at the output to provide more power.
They are available as benchtop or rack-mounted systems with N female, 7/16 DIN female, or 1 5/8 EIA female connectors.
