The MD 407A from AMETEK CTS is an active/passive Current Sensor Probe that is designed for frequency range from 4 kHz to 400 MHz. This monitoring device is suited for a variety of applications including EMC immunity testing, BCI testing, automotive testing, medical device testing and military testing. It can measure the current in a conductor without connecting it directly and conforms to standards such as SO 11452-4, RTCA/DO-160 section 20, MIL-STD-461 CS114. This sensor probe serves as a backup device that can be utilized during clamp injection scenarios when the common-mode impedance requirements of IEC/EN 61000-4-6 are not met (immunity to conducted disturbances, induced by radio frequency fields).
In passive mode, this monitoring device can measure a signal current of up to 1 A while in active mode, it can measure up to 30 mA of signal current (linear). It requires a DC supply of 12 V (in active mode) and consumes 0.6 A of current. The MD 407A is available in a module that measures 113 x 98 x 59 mm with BNC connectors and weighs approximately 830 g.
