EN 62053-24 defines standards for static meters measuring AC active energy (watt-hour meters) directly connected to electrical networks up to 1,000 V AC. These meters calculate reactive power and energy using fundamental frequency components of currents and voltages only. They may include additional functions and can operate with or without an indicating display, enclosed in a single case. The standard excludes meters for voltages exceeding 1,000 V AC, systems with multiple remote devices, portable meters, and those used in specialized environments like vehicles or laboratories.
