IEC 61439-2:2011 specifies the requirements for power switchgear and controlgear assemblies (PSC-ASSEMBLIES) with rated voltages up to 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC. It applies to both stationary and movable assemblies, with or without enclosures, used for electrical energy generation, transmission, distribution, and control. This standard also covers assemblies designed for special conditions, such as those used in ships or rail vehicles, and for electrical equipment of machines, with supplementary requirements outlined in the IEC 60204 series.
