Overview

EN 61000-6-2 applies to electrical and electronic apparatus intended for use in industrial environments where no dedicated product or product-family immunity standard exists. It covers immunity requirements in the frequency range of 0 Hz to 400 GHz, addressing continuous and transient, conducted and radiated disturbances, including electrostatic discharges. Test requirements are specified for each relevant port. Industrial apparatus typically operate in environments characterized by one or more of the following: a power network powered by a high or medium voltage power transformer dedicated to an installation feeding manufacturing or similar plants; the presence of industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) apparatus; frequent switching of heavy inductive or capacitive loads; and high currents and associated magnetic fields.
