Overview

EN 50561-1 specifies limits and measurement methods for radio disturbance characteristics of in-home communication devices that utilize low-voltage power lines as the transmission medium. It applies to equipment operating in the frequency range of 1.6065 MHz to 30 MHz. The standard outlines procedures for measuring signals generated by such equipment and sets limits for the frequency range of 9 kHz to 400 GHz. No measurements are required at frequencies where limits are not defined. Equipment communicating outside this frequency range will be addressed by a separate standard under development.
