Overview

This EMC standard sets requirements for emissions and immunity in wire-line telecommunication networks, including telephone wires and their in-premises extensions, based on harmonized EMC product standards and good engineering practices. It covers frequencies from 9 kHz to 400 GHz. Networks are assessed only in frequency ranges where limits are specified in the relevant standards. The standard does not apply to wanted emissions from embedded radio links within the network. It ensures that electromagnetic disturbances from a network do not interfere with the operation of radio, telecommunications, or other equipment. Fault conditions are not considered.
