This standard addresses electrical equipment that transmits signals in the frequency range of 1.6 MHz to 30 MHz on low-voltage electrical systems, whether on public supply networks or within consumer premises. It does not define signal modulation, coding methods, or functional features, nor does it include environmental requirements or tests. The immunity criteria are designed to ensure adequate protection for equipment in residential, commercial, light industrial (Class 1), and industrial (Class 2) environments. However, it may not cover extreme disturbance scenarios, such as those caused by hand-held transmitters near the equipment, which might require additional mitigation measures.
