Overview

This standard addresses the electromagnetic immunity of machine tools designed for industrial and similar purposes, with rated voltages not exceeding 1,000 V AC or 1,500 V DC between lines. It applies to machines that may include motors, heating elements, and electric or electronic circuitry, powered by mains or other electrical sources. While primarily for industrial environments, it can also be used to assess equipment in less demanding settings, such as residential or light industrial areas. The standard does not apply to modules sold separately or to fixed installations. It excludes safety considerations as per the Machinery Directive 98/37/EC and is not intended for environments with high electromagnetic fields or significant power network pulses, where additional mitigation may be required. Immunity is assessed across frequencies from 0 Hz to 400 GHz, with no measurements needed at frequencies where requirements are not specified.
