Overview

SO 13766-1:2018 outlines test methods and acceptance criteria for evaluating the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of earth-moving machinery and specific building construction machinery, including drilling, concrete preparation, and road construction equipment. It addresses general EMC requirements under typical electromagnetic conditions, while ISO 13766-2:2018 focuses on functional safety EMC requirements. The standard evaluates electromagnetic disturbance phenomena, such as broadband and narrowband interference, electromagnetic field immunity, electrostatic discharge, and conducted transients. It applies to machinery with DC, AC, or hybrid power systems but excludes machines supplied by external mains networks or related to military applications. Note that grid-connected machines fall under IEC 61000, and hybrid machines are covered by UN ECE R10-Rev. 5.
