Telangana's Information Technology and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao on Tuesday inaugurated the state-of-the-art Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/ Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) lab of Vimta Labs, a leading Life Sciences Contract and Testing organization in India, at Neovantage Park in Genome Valley, Hyderabad.
The lab is equipped to handle advanced and complex testing to support the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) requirement of active medical, wireless, defense, and other electronic industrial sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Vimta Labs Chairman Dr. S P Vasireddi said that the company has invested Rs. 30 crores for this EMC/EMI lab so far and planned to double the capacity of the lab in the next 12 months by investing Rs. 15 crores.
Overall the company would invest Rs. 100 crores in this lab in the next 2-5 years to increase its capacity and expand its footprint by setting up of more such labs in PAN India, Dr. Vasireddi said.
He said, "We see that over the last few years, the Indian EDSM sector witnessed a significant shift from basic testing to areas such as product development, original design manufacturing and others. Our foray into EMC testing aims to cater to the growing needs of the life sciences and biomedical industries for precision testing. The advanced semi anechoic lab will position India as a global leader in EMC testing," the Chairman added.
Vimta Labs Managing Director Harita Vasireddy said, "Our labs offer operational excellence in terms multifunction testing, testing for equipment with unique or advanced features, and a range of testing solutions to diverse verticals in the ESDM sector."
