All electronic devices emit electromagnetic fields and thus influence other devices when interconnected or in close proximity. For example, TV, Mobile Phones, WiFi routers, electrical power lines, and microwave ovens may all disturb or be disturbed by each other if not properly designed for EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility).
Manufacturers are responsible for ensuring that a device is compliant with the EMC requirements set by authorities in different markets. In the EU, products must comply with the EMC Directive. The EMC Directive sets limits for both emissions (product does not disturb others) and immunity (product can stand interference coming from other devices). In US, FCC sets limits only for emissions.
