TÜV SÜD Opens New £2.88M State-of-the-Art EMC and Radio Frequency Test Facility in the UK712370

TÜV SÜD welcomed over 100 customers and TÜV SÜD colleagues from around the world for the grand opening of their new £2.88million state-of-the-art UK EMC and Radio Frequency test facility. Prof. Dr. Axel Stepken (Chairman of the Board, TÜV SÜD AG) and Holger Lindner (CEO, TÜV SÜD Product Service) had the honor of cutting the ribbon and declaring the building open at TÜV SÜD’s Hampshire headquarters.

An opening keynote from Prof. Dr. Axel Stepken, Holger Lindner, and Chris Guy (CEO, TÜV SÜD UK & Ireland) was followed by two presentations. David Lakeland (Manager - Innovation & Service Development) and Nic Forsyth (Chief Engineer) presented an interesting session on “Automated testing: Essential in today’s world” and Joe Lomako (Cybersecurity Lab Manager) talked about “Cybersecurity for your business: The dark & light side”. Guests then toured the new facilities and watched demonstrations of the SPECTRUM platform and EmX Chamber automation.

Mary Grigsby, Head of TÜV SÜD Product Service, enjoyed the event saying:

“It’s been a fantastic day celebrating the opening of our new test facility with customers and colleagues. I’m pleased that we’ve been able to invest £2.88m in improving our facilities so that we can continue to deliver customers the high-quality services we are renowned for.”

This is just phase one of their new EMC and Radio Frequency testing facilities and planning is already underway for phase two where we’ll be adding:

  • Two x 3M SAC Emissions Chambers
  • ETS Lindgren AMS-8900 OTA Measurement System
  • Two x 5G NR FR1 Anritsu MT8000A
  • Three x 3/4G Anritsu MT 8821C

This new facility will help manufacturers achieve a shorter time to market for products that integrate RF modules, including technologies such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and the new 6E frequency bands. The new chambers will also offer testing to worldwide compliance specifications to support the growing demand from manufacturers to access multiple global markets simultaneously. The new facility provides the space and the platform for further investments, which are expected to be more than £8m over the next few years.
