SimYog, a leading EMI/EMC simulation and testing platform incubated at IISc, has successfully closed a funding round of INR 20 Crore. The funding was led by Mela Ventures, accompanied by 1Crowd, and with participation from existing investor IdeaSpring. This unique collaboration brings together academia, corporate, and venture capitalists to support a deep tech solution originating from India and catering to global needs.
Founded in 2017 by Prof. Dipanjan Gope, Anant Devi, and Harikiran Muniganti, SimYog has emerged as a key player in the EMI/EMC domain. The company provides simulation software designed for early-stage testing, addressing the challenges of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in electronic devices.
The density of electronics in various systems presents a growing challenge in managing EMI/EMC. Traditionally, the only solution involved testing the final product in labs, leading to compliance failures and significant financial impacts. SimYog’s innovative approach allows for front-loading EMI/EMC testing at the early design stage, significantly reducing risks, delays, and costs associated with certification.
Prof. Dipanjan Gope, Founder and CEO of SimYog, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “I am very excited about the collaboration with academia, corporate, and venture capitalists. It clearly shows the overall confidence in the problem we are trying to solve and the solution itself. The mentorship from Mela Ventures is going to be invaluable in our global growth story. It is our dream to say that there is a bit of SimYog in every electronic device one touches. This investment will help us reach many customers who are facing the challenge of EMI/EMC testing and help them release quality products faster and cost effectively.”
RK Shenoy, CTO Bosch Global Software Technologies, shared his positive experience, stating, “SimYog’s EMI/EMC simulation at the design stage significantly reduces the risk of delays & higher verification costs during the certification stage. One can benefit from sample production cost savings, faster time-to-market, and improved product performance. SimYog plays a significant part in our product success, and we are excited about the promising roadmap.”
N S Parthasarathy, Managing Partner, Mela Ventures, highlighted the importance of SimYog’s role, stating, “SimYog has cracked the code on that front, and we are delighted to see the rapid progress they are making in this space. Having an enviable client roster is a testimonial by itself to the category they have chosen to own and lead. Prof. Dipanjan has built a great team and a culture that will thrive and help millions of users safely use the electrical and electronic devices.”
SimYog’s Compliance-Scope has already demonstrated significant success, saving time-to-market for a semiconductor company and its Automotive Tier-1 customers, resulting in substantial cost savings. The funding secured will fuel SimYog’s mission to make EMI/EMC testing more accessible, enhancing the quality and efficiency of electronic device development globally.
