MPS, a leading international semiconductor company, in collaboration with Rohde & Schwarz, an international electronics group specializing in the fields of electronic test equipment, broadcast & media, cybersecurity, radio-monitoring and radio-location, and radio-communication, is conducting a 2-day virtual EMC and Power Electronics Workshop on March 6th and March 14th, 2024.
The EMC and Power Electronics Workshop Day 1, scheduled for March 6th, 2024, promises to be a comprehensive learning experience. Florian Seliger from MPS will kick off the day's events with a presentation on Spread Spectrum to Reduce EMI at 7:30 AM PST, 10:30 AM EST, and 4:30 PM CET. Participants will delve into the impacts, benefits, and limitations of frequency spread spectrum (FSS) technologies, gaining insights into their role in mitigating EMI in Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS).
Following Seliger's presentation, Alexander Kuellmer from R&S will take the stage at 8:30 AM PST, 11:30 AM EST, and 5:30 PM CET to discuss Measurement Fundamentals of AC/DC SMPSs. Attendees will learn about the significance of SMPSs in modern electronics, the importance of selecting appropriate oscilloscope tools for accurate measurements, and an overview of AC/DC SMPS measurements.
The morning session will conclude with a presentation by Arturo Mediano from UNIZAR at 9:30 AM PST, 12:30 PM EST, and 6:30 PM CET on EMI/EMC Debugging Conducted Emissions with Oscilloscopes. Mediano will provide practical strategies for troubleshooting EMI/EMC-conducted emissions in electronic circuits using advanced scopes with LISN, voltage probes, and near-field probes. Through a demonstration with an MPS DC/DC converter, participants will gain valuable insights into analyzing signals in both time and frequency domains.
