ETS Lindgren to Showcase Innovative Products and Services for healthcare at the 2023 PDC Summit712370

ETS-Lindgren will showcase innovative products and services for MRI facilities at the 2023 International Summit & Exhibition on Health Facility Planning, Design & Construction (PDC Summit), held from March 12 to 15 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The PDC Summit attracts thousands of professionals in all disciplines of healthcare to learn, network, and discover ways to create value for the healthcare environment. Attendees will share their findings, challenges, and best practices with the common goal of advancing safe and trusted healthcare.

The PDC Summit is sponsored by the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) – the largest association dedicated to optimizing the healthcare-built environment. ASHE’s more than 12,000 members design, build, and operate hospitals, and are involved in improving the healthcare physical environment throughout the lifespan of a facility. In 2023, ASHE is celebrating 60 years of optimizing healthcare facilities.

The PDC Summit Exhibition will be held on Monday, March 13, from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm and from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm; and Tuesday, March 14, from 10:30 am to 1:45 pm (all times are MST). Visitors to ETS-Lindgren’s Exhibit Booth 1214 will see innovative products on display, including a model of the EVO™ Series of MRI RF Shielded Doors, an MRI Patient Scanner to address patient safety, as well as novel accessories such as ClearShield™ S-Glass.

“Powerful magnetic scanners require superior RF Shielding to ensure peak performance, providing high-quality images for radiologists and their patients,” said John Stanfield, Regional Sales Manager with ETS-Lindgren. “We’ll also have a ‘cutaway’ model on display in our booth to provide an example of RF Shielded Enclosure construction for MRI facilities, allowing visitors to see how robust shielding provides an excellent foundation for our MRI products and accessories,” he added.

For industry-leading MRI door technology, the EVO Series of MRI RF Shielded Doors are designed to provide reliable, low-maintenance service for use in rigorous MRI environments. To facilitate access into and out of the MRI suite, this pneumatic sealing door is equipped with an easy-open, lever-style handle with minimal force required for operation. Customers who are frustrated from trying to open and close their cumbersome MRI doors are relieved by the low-friction, aesthetically pleasing EVO door. With its low-profile, ADA-compliant threshold, the door facilitates effortless patient gurney transfers and easy cleaning, especially useful for surgical applications. But perhaps the most important feature of the EVO door is its acoustic performance, with Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating choices of 28, 34, 40, and 44 (49 dB of sound reduction at frequencies of concern).  These ratings ensure a quieter, calmer environment near the MRI suite for staff and patients. Visitors to ETS-Lindgren’s booth can interact with a model of the door to experience its ease of operation and exceptional modern design.

For enhanced patient safety, ETS-Lindgren’s MRI Patient Scanner conveniently identifies harmful ferromagnetic materials that are dangerous within the MRI suite environment. The MRI Patient Scanner is a portable, handheld metal detector that combines high sensitivity to ferromagnetic metals with immunity to non-ferromagnetic metals. The scanner has three analysis modes that are selectable via the easy-to-use keypad. With options for detecting both ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic metal objects, the MRI Patient Scanner helps radiologists identify anything on or in the patient that should not be near the strong magnetic field area of an MRI suite. With the MRI Patient Scanner, non-ferrous objects are quickly detected to reduce the risk of potential RF burn threats to a patient.

One of ETS-Lindgren’s latest developments, ClearShield S-Glass provides a privacy option integrated into a high-performance RF window. S-Glass utilizes Liquid Crystal (LC) technology within the window to provide a dynamic privacy option. DMX controllers allow the operator to switch the glass from clear to opaque or select the desired level of opaqueness, eliminating the need to clean and maintain cumbersome blinds.
