ETS-Lindgren to Present 5G Wireless and ANSI C63® EMC Site Validation Topics at the EMC Europe 2022

ETS-Lindgren to Present 5G Wireless and ANSI C63® EMC Site Validation Topics at the EMC Europe 2022712370

ETS-Lindgren announced its technical contributions to EMC Europe 2022. The EMC conference will be held in person from September 5 to 8, 2022, at Svenska Mässan – The Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. This year’s contributions include four invited presentations on EMC and Wireless topics. ETS-Lindgren is also proud to be an exhibitor. Visit Booth #G04:15 during the Conference Exhibition to learn about ETS-Lindgren's latest products and services.

The Exhibition is open September 6 and 7, from 9.00 to 17.00 CEST each day. Access to the Exhibition is available at no charge using an Exhibition Ticket

ETS-Lindgren's technical contributions begin Monday morning, September 5, with the full-day workshop “Innovative Wireless Test Methodologies for 5G New Radio and mmWave Applications.” Co-Chaired by Janet O’Neil with ETS-Lindgren and Aurelian Bria with Ericsson, the workshop features 10 invited speakers from industry-leading companies, including Ericsson, Intel, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Boeing, ETS-Lindgren, and Radientum OY.  Jari Vikstedt, ETS-Lindgren’s Director of Wireless Solutions, will present “Emerging EMC Requirements for 5G mmWave Device Measurements.” In addition, Zhong Chen, ETS-Lindgren’s Director of RF Engineering, will share his expertise with the presentation “Recent Advances in C63.25.3: Qualifying Anechoic Chambers for Measurements of mmWave Devices.” The full-day workshop is scheduled from 9:00 to 17:50 CEST in Room G3.  “Aurelian and I are excited about this workshop program since we have several innovators in the wireless community presenting, many of whom have never presented at the EMC Europe conference. We look forward to the fruitful and collaborative discussions we expect will occur as a result of the workshop,” said Janet O’Neil, ETS-Lindgren’s Customer Relations Manager.

In parallel with the above session on Monday morning, Mr. Chen will present in the workshop “ANSI C63.25.3 EMC Test Site Validation in 18 to 40 GHz.”  Workshop Chair Nicholas Abbondante with Intertek will provide an overview on “Draft Standard ANSI C63.25.3” with Mr. Chen sharing greater detail in his presentation “Cylindrical Mode Filtered SVSWR – A New ANSI C63.25.3 Method Proposed for EMC Site Validation from 18 GHz to 40 GHz.”  EMC site validation methods in the ANSI C63 standards are currently limited to 18 GHz.  However, with the proliferation of electronic devices operating at progressively higher frequencies, a suitable method for EMC test site validation from 18 GHz to 40 GHz is required. Scheduled from 9:00 to 10:40 CEST in Room R5, this workshop will share the latest activity on the draft ANSI C63.25.3 standard.

Those interested in EMF, EMI, and VSWR measurements will not want to miss the oral session on this topic scheduled for Thursday, September 8, from 16:20 to 17:40 CEST in Room J1.  Mr. Chen will present the paper “Extending Site VSWR to Millimeter Wave using Cylindrical Mode Filtering” co-authored with Phil Miller of RATLR in this session. As the chair of ANSI C63 Subcommittee 1 “Techniques and Developments,” Mr. Chen will share his expertise in the development of the ANSI C63.25 series of standards on EMC Site Validation. This presentation will focus on the theory behind a new test methodology proposed for ANSI C63.25.3 for measurements from 18 GHz to 40 GHz. “Currently there is no EMC Site Validation Standard within ANSI C63 or CISPR in this frequency range,” said Mr. Chen. “We have a few presentations at EMC Europe on C63.25.3, as this is a novel opportunity to exchange ideas with the global standards community on test techniques for this application. I look forward to discussing this ANSI C63 work with my CISPR colleagues at EMC Europe and sharing our collective expertise.”

Visit ETS-Lindgren in Booth #G04:15 during the Exhibition on September 6 and 7.  The participants will find ETS-Lindgren's latest addition to its Broadband Electric-Field (E-Field) Probe Series, EMSense™ 40, on display. EMSense 40 features a frequency response of 10 MHz to 40 GHz and meets or exceeds the requirements for automotive, MIL-STD, and commercial EMC RF immunity standards. “Our application engineers and sales professionals are happy to assist our customers with their Calibration, EMC, EMP, Microwave/RF, Automotive, and Wireless test and measurement requirements,” said Vincent Keyser, ETS-Lindgren’s Sales Director EMEA. “We look forward to reconnecting with visitors to our booth – please drop by and say hello!”
