ETS-Lindgren recently celebrated the success of the 2023 San Diego Test Equipment Symposium (SDTES). Leo Botero AIA, Principal Project Engineer with ETS-Lindgren, presented “Top 10 Considerations to Ensure a Successful RF Shielded Enclosure Project” as part of the technical program at SDTES hosted by Advanced Test Equipment Corporation (ATEC). Held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at ATEC’s San Diego facility, the annual gathering attracted local engineers and speakers and exhibitors who travelled great distances to attend.
“We were excited to support the event with a contribution to the technical program and a booth to showcase our latest EMC products and services,” said Mr. Botero. “I enjoyed sharing ETS-Lindgren’s expertise on RF Shielded Enclosures. With over 50,000 global RF Shielded Enclosures under our belt, we’ve learned plenty of tips to ensure a successful project outcome — on time and on budget.”
ETS-Lindgren’s booth at SDTES was ably staffed by Frans Stork, Regional Sales Director Americas West with ETS-Lindgren, and Representatives Eric Hahn, Ron Ahlquist, and Kevin Kiersey – all with Altamont Technical Services. They answered many questions from visitors interested in the company’s Test and Measurement Solutions. “Once again, it was a fantastic event this year,” said Mr. Stork. “We were happy to support ATEC, our long-term rental partner, by staffing a booth and providing a speaker. As a result of Leo’s presentation and the many questions he received afterwards, we will create one of our popular educational ‘Top 10’ brochures on the topic he presented.”
The “Top 10” brochures share practical, application-oriented considerations to ensure successful project outcomes. Many topics are addressed, from Anechoic Absorber to Satellite Test Chambers. As a sneak preview, the new “Top 10 Design and Construction Considerations for RF Shielded Enclosures” will include the following key points to address before embarking on any project:
Mr. Botero is a Principal Project Engineer with ETS-Lindgren based in Wood Dale, Illinois. He is a licensed architect and member of the American Institute for Architects (AIA) with a BS Degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. With more than ten years of experience in design engineering for RF-shielded enclosures, data center design, and construction, he coordinates the production of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and shielded components, as well as facility interfaces, for enclosure installations. As part of ETS-Lindgren’s Test and Measurement team, he is responsible for enclosure/chamber design, drawing coordination, and material release for production.
“Leo’s extensive experience with anechoic, acoustic, SCIF, tapered, all-welded, and modular RF Shielded Enclosures – across commercial electronic products, aerospace/government organizations, and the automotive industry – resonated with the attendees at SDTES. We all have the goal of successful RF shielded enclosure projects to save time and money, and to bring products to market faster. We’re fortunate Leo could share his expertise at ATEC’s great event,” enthused Mr. Stork.
