EMC+SIPI 2023 Announces SIPI Short Course, Offering In-Depth Knowledge of Signal and Power Integrity
EMC+SIPI 2023 has announced a SIPI Short Course which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1, 2023. It aims to provide participants with an enriching experience and in-depth knowledge about Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI).
Designed for beginner and intermediate-level learners, this short course will delve into the fundamental concepts of SI and PI while illustrating them through practical examples. The comprehensive curriculum will cover a range of topics to equip participants with a strong foundation in these critical areas.
Signal Integrity topics will include an exploration of basic concepts, understanding signal integrity, transmission lines, crosstalk, differential pairs, vias and impairments, termination techniques, timing considerations, and application examples such as the DDR Memory Interface and High-Speed Serial Interface.
Power Integrity will also be covered extensively, focusing on fundamental concepts, power integrity principles, DC current and voltage, decoupling techniques, transient performance, and application examples such as DC (IR) voltage drop and decoupling analysis in the presence of noise.
The course will be presented by John Golding, an experienced professional from Siemens EDA. With a background as a hardware engineer specializing in high-speed design and analysis for a telecommunications equipment provider, John has been an application engineer at Mentor Graphics since 2014. His expertise lies in signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC analysis tools. Currently serving as an application engineer with Siemens EDA, John works closely with engineers across various industries, helping them overcome their SI/PI/EMC analysis challenges. He holds a BSEE degree from the University of Michigan and an MSEE degree from Illinois Tech.
