Dekra to Showcase Automotive Testing for Development, Homologation, and Quality Assurance712370

DEKRA, one of the world’s leading service providers in automotive testing, international expert organization, will be presenting at the Europe edition of the leading trade show in the field, the Automotive Testing Expo 2024 in Stuttgart (4 to 6 June 2024). The fair, together with its U.S. and China counterparts, covers every aspect of automotive testing, development, and validation technologies.

DEKRA’s range of services for the automotive and supplier industry extends from overall vehicle validation accompanying development to type testing and homologation, and in the product and component sector from material and parts testing to EMC and RF testing. The focus is on vehicles and mobility services – in particular on automated and connected driving as well as vehicles with electric drives. Also, cybersecurity services are an important part of the portfolio.

DEKRA’s numerous laboratories and test sites – including those in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and the USA, as well as in Asia – each have their own focus: automated driving, wireless communications, charging technology, electromagnetic compatibility, testing of electric motors and drive axles. With its international network of test locations for connected, automated and electrically driven vehicles, DEKRA offers its customers services from a single source.

At its stand at the Automotive Testing Expo Europe (Booth 10, Stand 1612), the company puts the DEKRA Automobil Test Center (DATC) in Klettwitz (Germany) in the spotlight, which offers comprehensive automotive testing services. The test sites and labs can be experienced in a detailed virtual twin at the booth. Experts are on hand to answer all questions from potential customers.

The newest addition to the site at the DEKRA Lausitzring test and racetrack has recently entered its construction phase: The new test center for automotive battery systems is scheduled to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2025. It will offer all types of battery testing under one roof. Mechanical, performance and environmental tests will be complemented by abuse tests, in which batteries are exposed to situations far beyond their regular use.

DEKRA’s contributions to conference programming

DEKRA will also be contributing its expertise to the conference program at the trade fair. DEKRA cybersecurity expert Jorge Wallace Ruiz will speak on “Challenges in cybersecurity testing for future mobility solutions”.

At the ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo which takes place at the same time, Thomas Jäger, Senior Vice President Global Connectivity of Digital & Product Solutions at DEKRA, will give a presentation about the latest developments in V2X technology and the current regulatory and certification situation, as well as the testing requirements for connected and automated driving.

The test tracks at the site in Klettwitz will be at the center of the third presentation given by Uwe Burckhardt, Head of Test and Event at DEKRA Lausitzring, together with Dr Sebastian Siegl (Audi). Their topic is called “Evolving proving ground for the development and validation of automated driving in different operational design domains”. Since DEKRA took over the Lausitzring racetrack in late 2017, tens of millions of euros have been invested in the facilities – most recently in the flexible city courses which have officially been inaugurated in 2023.
