The Central Texas Chapter of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Society has announced its upcoming social networking gathering at Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse, scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The event offers an excellent opportunity for chapter members, their colleagues interested in EMC, and industry professionals to come together, network, and enjoy some delicious appetizers and pizza, generously provided by the chapter.
The IEEE EMC Society is the world's largest organization dedicated to the development and distribution of information, tools, and techniques for reducing electromagnetic interference. This chapter meeting, free and open to the public, marks the first social mixer of its kind for the Central Texas Chapter. It's more than just a meetup; it's an opportunity to ignite new ideas, strengthen professional bonds, and have a blast.
ETS-Lindgren is proud to have supported the IEEE EMC Society and its Central Texas Chapter over time: Jack McFadden, EMC System Engineer at ETS-Lindgren, served as the Society’s chapter chair for several years. Upon his departure in 2022, Tara Kellogg, Director of Business Development for Healthcare and Industrial Government at ETS-Lindgren, stepped in as his replacement. Jayashree Kalmankar, EMC Laboratory Technician at ETS-Lindgren, recently joined the chapter as the secretary and has played a crucial role in organizing this occasion under Ms. Kellogg’s guidance.
The meeting marks the launch of a new practice, intended to tap into the collective knowledge of the EMC community in Central Texas, and create a more vibrant social atmosphere. Ms. Kellogg expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "We are gearing up for our first-ever social event, the kickoff of an exciting tradition. Our intention is to connect professionals in the EMC industry in Austin, helping them get to know each other better and brainstorm intriguing topics for 2024."
