Generic Immunity Requirements for Industrial Environments
The IEC 61000-6-2 from the International Electrotechnical Committee is an EMC standard that specifies generic immunity requirements for industrial electrical and electronic apparatus operating in the range of 0 Hz to 400 GHz. The standard also applies to industrial machinery used in a power system connected to a high or medium-voltage transformer of a manufacturing or similar plant. This standard does not cover the extreme cases which may occur at any time and place, but with an extremely low probability of occurrence.
The following lists of tests that are referenced in this standard:
This standard also specifies the requirements and immunity limits to apparatus which is battery operated and intended to be used in industrial locations. The environments encompassed by this standard are industrial, both indoor and outdoor. The immunity requirements have been selected to ensure an adequate level of immunity for apparatus at industrial locations. Not all disturbances types have been included for testing purposes in this standard, but only those considered relevant for the equipment covered by this standard. These test requirements represent essential electromagnetic compatibility immunity requirements.
