CISPR 35 is an EMC standard for multimedia equipment (MME) operating on a frequency range from 0 to 400 GHz and having a supply voltage of not more than 600 V. CISPR 35 focuses on providing intrinsic immunity levels of multimedia equipment so that they will work in an optimum manner. The standard has also specified test methods and requirements of the test apparatus to ensure the reproducibility of tests and the repeatability of results. The standard includes commercial and domestic MME. It was published in 2016 and its second edition is expected to be released in 2023.
CISPR 35 applies to the functionalities of the MME such as broadcast reception, printing, scanning, display, and display output, audio generating function, networking, and telephony functions. This standard limits the RF interference hampering these functions of the MME.
The standard offers several choices of testing environments. Several immunity tests are included in CISPR 35. Some of them are:
The devices with telephony functions are tested more extensively in this standard. The standard also specifies whether the EUT is intended for tabletop, floor standing, tabletop or floor standing, rack mounting, etc. while operating.
